During his visit, Governor Kuol Muor Muor of Warrap State interacted with community leaders, youth groups, and local residents to discuss the ongoing conflict and find ways to restore peace in the area. He emphasized the importance of unity and peaceful coexistence between the Twic and Ngok communities.

In a press conference held after the meetings, Governor Kuol stated, “I am deeply concerned about the escalating conflict and road ambushes between Twic and Ngok communities. This not only hinders the free movement of innocent civilians, but also disrupts the delivery of essential goods and humanitarian aid to those in need. We must put an end to this violence and work towards a peaceful resolution.”

He further added, “The Aneet case will be resolved by both administrations, with the assistance of the National Government. However, it is crucial that we engage in immediate dialogue and peaceful reconciliation between the Twic and Ngok communities. They have lived together for decades, sharing the same norms and even intermarrying. It is time to remember our shared history and work towards a peaceful coexistence.”

The Governor’s visit was met with enthusiasm and gratitude from the Twic community.

Local residents expressed their appreciation for the Governor’s efforts in addressing the ongoing conflict and his commitment to finding a peaceful solution.

One community leader, John Deng, said, “We are grateful for Governor Kuol’s visit and his call for peace. We have suffered for far too long due to this conflict. It is time for us to come together, put our differences aside, and work towards a peaceful resolution. We hope that both communities can engage in dialogue and find common ground.”

The Governor’s delegation, including National Members of Parliament, Warrap State Deputy Governor, and the State Minister of Local Government and Law Enforcement, assured the Twic community of their support in resolving the conflict and restoring peace in the area.

As Governor Kuol concluded his one-day peace tour, he expressed his optimism for a brighter future.

“I believe that through dialogue and peaceful reconciliation, we can overcome this conflict and build a stronger, more united community. Let us work together towards a peaceful coexistence and a prosperous future for all,” he concluded.
