National Oil and Gas Hands Over One Hundred Fuel Trucks to Pacific Petroleum Group in Effort to Subsidize Prices

Juba- In a bid to address the high fuel prices plaguing the country, National Oil and Gas, with support from the Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Trade, has handed over one hundred fuel trucks to Pacific Petroleum Group. The handover ceremony took place on Wednesday in Juba, with government representatives and industry leaders in attendance.

Jacklin Nyibol, a Member of Parliament and Government representative in the Economic cluster, highlighted the importance of this collaboration in reducing fuel prices for the public. She emphasized the role of oil and gas in protecting the environment from climate change, stressing that the government is dedicated to ensuring the well-being of its citizens.

James Deng, Managing Director of National Oil and Gas, expressed his commitment to working closely with Pacific Petroleum Group to ensure the distribution of subsidized fuel to all regions of the country. He revealed that the fuel trucks will exclusively supply Pacific Petroleum Group’s stations nationwide.

Kur Nyor Chol, General Manager of Pacific Petroleum Group, assured that they would efficiently disperse the fuel trucks to all their stations, aiming to alleviate the economic crisis exacerbated by high fuel prices in the country.

Akoch Akuei, Managing Director of Prosperity, emphasized the significance of using oil and gas to combat climate change and protect the environment. He urged National Oil and Gas and Pacific Petroleum Group to collaborate with the government ministries to address the issues of high fuel prices and food commodities for the benefit of the people.

This collaborative effort between National Oil and Gas and Pacific Petroleum Group signals a positive step towards stabilizing fuel prices and enhancing access to affordable fuel for the citizens of South Sudan.
