He commended the Quality Assurance Team at Nesitu and the surveillance team for their efforts in preventing harmful or substandard products from entering the market.
Despite ongoing challenges such as limited resources and inadequate testing equipment, SSNBS has made progress in developing legal instruments and conformity assessment services in various states.
Dr. Kuorwel highlighted the need for increased financial support from the government to procure necessary equipment and create safe working environments for staff.
The donation of 18 new laptops and 10 motorbikes aims to address some of the mobility challenges faced by SSNBS staff.
The Minister encouraged staff to prioritize the use of motorcycles for transportation due to budget constraints.
The laptops and motorbikes were distributed among different SSNBS offices to ensure smoother operations and improved efficiency.
With continued support from government officials, including the Honourable Minister for Trade Industry and the Honorable Minister for Finance and Planning, the National Bureau of Standards is poised to enhance consumer safety, health protection frameworks, and contribute to economic growth and development in South Sudan.
